The wedding of the Duke & the Duchess of Westminster will take place according to the Anglican tradition, with modern arrangements and a touch of Victorian tradition (the wedding begins with a tribute to the deceased)
Theme of Love, Spring, Nature, Grace and Courage
The choir tradition in Chester is 900 years old, dating back to the founding of the Bendedictine Monastery. The current organist and music director is Philip Rushforth and the assistant music director and sub-organist is Alexander Lanigan-Palotai; they are assisted by an assistant organist, Rachel Mahon.
There is no specialist school for choirs in Chester. The two choirs are made up of volunteers and students from schools in the area, chosen by competition.
The couple chose the Bishop of Chester, Mark Tanner, to conduct the ceremony, accompanied by the Dean of Chester Cathedral, Dr. Tim Stratford. These will be supported by Jane Brooke, Vice-Dean & Canon Missioner of Chester Cathedral, Rev. Jeremy Dussek, Canon Precentor of Chester Cathedral and by the Rev. Roger Clarke, Rector of St-Mary the virgin church, Eccleston, Chaplain to the Bishop of Chester & Canon of Chester Cathedral
